Event summary - "Visit to Novonesis"
On Wednesday the 11th of June 2025, 33 members gathered at the new Novonesis Innovation Campus in Hørsholm for an exciting afternoon. Several DBF members are working for Novonesis and we are lucky to have two of these members in the DBF board, Sofie Cappelen and Anders Nielsen, who were able to open the doors for us.
We initially received a welcome by Sofie Cappelen, followed by Principal Scientist Simon Carlsen who introduced the many products that Novonesis are delivering to the food and beverage industries. Much focus was on the new innovative yeast strains, such as SmartBev NEER™ for low and non-alcoholic beer production.
After this introduction and a Q&A session, we went to the new Application Technology Center (ATC) and received a comprehensive walk through of the impressive facilities able to process raw milk to yogurt, cheese and other fermented milk products. The facility is operating in a clean environment, and we were therefore all required to jump into protective clothing before the visit.
After visiting the ATC, Novonesis kindly hosted us for a sandwich, beers and soft drinks in the open area.
