Event summary - "Visit to Slowburn"
Wednesday 30th SEP 2026 28 members of DBF gathered at Slowburn Craft brewery in Albertslund for a brewery tour.
Slowburn is not the largest nor the most innovative brewery - what makes Slowburn special are two other factors:
- Slowburn has since 2023 been located in the de - commissioned former Vridsløse State Prison.
- Slowburn is a Cooperative: This means that all staff are joined in ownership, all important decisions have to be taken in common, and all staff earn the same wages.
After Being briefed by Slowburn's Dave Perry about the Slowburn history and the Cooperative concept outside in the prison yard in the Indian summer afternoon, we went inside for a taste testing. We tested some 6 different Pilsners, IPAs and ended with a Barley Wine before walking to the bar for a sandwich.
At the end of the evening Axel presented MaCallan whisky to Jørgen Andersen, who had turned 80, and to Jeppe Kjeldsen, who had turned 50 - members applauded, and many stayed on after the end of the visit to enjoy a few more beers.
