New Brewing education at DTU

Our Chairman Michael Knoth  says 26th MAY 2026:

I am very pleased to share that DTU is preparing to launch a new brewing specialization for Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) students in Food Safety and Quality.

This is an important and very positive step for the Danish brewing and beverage industry.

In the coming years, our industry will gain access to a new group of engineers with technical insight into brewing, fermentation, process design, production, quality, hygiene, automation, sustainability, and related disciplines.

The specialization has been developed in dialogue between DTU and the Danish Brewers’ Guild / Dansk Brygmesterforening, and we are proud to have supported and contributed professional input to this new study path.

A key part of the specialization will be the students’ engineering internship and final project, both of which must be relevant to the brewing specialization. This creates an excellent opportunity for breweries and beverage
companies to engage with future technical talent at an early stage.

Therefore, I would like to encourage breweries and beverage companies in Denmark to welcome these students when they are looking for internships and project collaboration.

If your brewery or company is interested in hosting a student for an internship or project, please feel free to reach out to me. The Danish Brewers’ Guild will be more than happy to help communicate such opportunities
to the coming students.
